Ten commitments for honest practice
Ten commitments for honest practice
No medical stance. A geobiologist makes no health diagnosis, promises no cure and does not link an illness to a place. In the face of a health question, refer to a doctor. In the face of psychological distress or suicidal thoughts: 3114 (in France, 24 hours a day), 15 or 112 in case of immediate danger.
Ten commitments
- Name the register: measurable, traditional or symbolic, at each report-back.
- Make no health diagnosis and promise no cure or result.
- Do not establish a causal link between a place and an illness.
- Measure before interpreting and compare the measurements with the benchmarks, stating their nature (legal limit, recommendation, precautionary convention).
- Assess your own reliability through blind trials before offering a dowsing tool.
- Refer on: doctor for health, electrician for the installation, building professional for radon and damp, hydrogeologist for water, mental health professional for distress.
- Obtain the consent of all occupants, in particular before any photo or symbolic practice, and apply none to a child or a vulnerable person.
- Present costs transparently, without pressure or fear-based arguments.
- Protect data (GDPR) and keep it for a limited time.
- Train and be supervised: peer supervision, cross-review, updating references.
Emergencies (France)
- Psychological distress, suicidal thoughts: 3114 (24 hours a day).
- Immediate danger: 15, 17 or 112.
- Child in danger: 119.
Outside France, check the emergency numbers of your country.
