Ethics charter
Last updated: May 2026
Roots Unity offers systemic constellation sessions, coaching, supervision and training within a clear ethical framework. This Ethics Charter applies to all engagements with clients, supervisees and learners.
Preamble
Systemic constellation is a method of personal and professional exploration. It is not a medical, psychiatric or psychotherapeutic act. It does not replace any necessary medical, psychological or psychiatric care.
Principle 1 — Confidentiality
All information shared in a session, in supervision or in training is strictly confidential. No content is disclosed to third parties without the explicit written consent of the person concerned, except where required by law or in the event of imminent danger.
Principle 2 — Informed consent
Before any engagement, the client receives clear information about the method, its scope, its limits, the duration, the fee, and the right to withdraw at any time. Written consent is signed for individual constellation sessions.
Principle 3 — Non-substitution
The practitioner does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. They do not replace psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, doctors or any regulated health profession. Where a medical, psychiatric or social need is identified, the practitioner refers the person to the appropriate professional.
Principle 4 — Professional supervision
The practitioner commits to regular external supervision in order to guarantee the quality and ethics of their practice, prevent drift and maintain professional reflexivity.
Principle 5 — Respect for systemic order
The practitioner observes the systemic phenomena that emerge without imposing interpretation, judgement or premature solutions. The work serves the order, belonging and balance of the system, not the practitioner's projections.
Principle 6 — Limits of scope
The practitioner works only within their area of competence. They explicitly acknowledge the limits of the systemic approach and decline interventions for which they are not qualified.
Principle 7 — Continuing education
The practitioner commits to continuing education, regular reading and active participation in professional networks in order to maintain and develop their skills.
Principle 8 — Transparency about methods
The practitioner communicates clearly about the methods used (systemic constellation, coaching, supervision), their theoretical foundations and the absence of any guarantee of results. No promise of healing, transformation or specific outcome is made.
Principle 9 — Respect for people
The practitioner respects the dignity, autonomy, beliefs and pace of each person. No discrimination based on origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or social or professional status is tolerated.
